True HDR App Reviews

Was not so satisfied with Apple iOS original HDR application, but this new application changes everything and it males the iPhone 4 become a serious photographic instruments (my other cameras are Leica M9 and Leica D-LUX5).

Photoshop Element 8にもHDR合成機能があるので比較してみましたが、iPhoneで撮影した写真の場合、TrueHDRのほうがより自然な写真になる印象です。使用法も手軽だし、価格に比していいソフトですね。 ただし、他の方も指摘されているように、全体の色調のバランスが崩れることがありますので、Photoshopなり、iPhotoなりで細かな修正をするほうが、よりいい写真になると思います。 (追記) 最近のiPhone自体にHDR機能がありますので、このアプリは微調整が効くので、未だに使い続けています。 画質もよくなっていますし、やっぱりおすすめです。

I like this app. It makes very decent looking pictures and competes with HDR Pro app that I use also a lot.

Perfect app, works great! This is a real HDR. But upgrade your interface and please add the timer!

Semplice ed efficace, come deve essere

Lots of ghosting when the photos merge. There needs to be an auto merge setting as well. Dropping to 1 star. I went out to take picture with this app exclusively. After I got out of the sun I notice the picture quality is crappy. I used my tripod and the app still ghosts.

I scanned in the same transparency 3 times at different densities to merge together. I did this on a flat bed scanner. The 3 scans were EXACTLY in the same position, you would have to go out of your way to misalign them. Well this app did it! Every time. And also it only lets you merge 2 images together. I will be requesting my money back.

Overall good app. Wished it had macro capability. But its redemption in macros is, you can use other apps to shoot the macros and use this one too apply HDR to them.

Very basic and poor tone mapping. It only uses 2 source images and only a few attributes. Instagram does much better work. As far as HDR images goes it gives you a small selection of tools that make The image look bad.

I have always loved TruHDR. But now, when I click Choose Pictures and then choose All Photos, I dont have access to my whole library. Its stuck on Albums and only a few pix are available. If TruHDR developers are reading this, can you please respond to my emails? Help me to use this (prior to this) wonderful app again! I will gladly rewrite my review! Thank you!

Im a heavy user of HDR on my Sony digital camera so I thought Id try it on the iPhone. I did comparison shots of the same scene with the iPhone HDR feature and with this app. This app definitely and clearly produces a better photo

This camera doesnt work hand held. Instead of using the cameras burst mode, there is a second or so lag between photos. Phone must be on tripod or resting on something to use it. I was looking for alternative to Pro HDR X but this is nowhere close.

Needed a HDR image for publication and only had my iPad to take the image. This app gave me clear, large, wonderful images that needed no editing, just a crop

It makes the best, easiest, and quick HDR shots of any camera app Ive seen. I would give a 5 star but it does crash sometimes.

This is a very good app for taking pictures in bright sunlight with lots of shadowy areas. Its able to bring out detail in all the areas and blend into a nice clear picture.

I bought this to compare with Pro HDR X. HDR apps have a problem with halos in areas of high contrast. Its ugly. You get what look like smudges in th sky and in other areas of flat color or tone. Based on sample pictures, I thought this app might do that less than Pro HDR X. It doesnt. It also doesnt create the range of exposure that Pro HDR X makes. True HDR uses only two exposures, versus three for Pro HDR X. Theres not as much information to work with, so the range is narrower. On the plus side, True HDR is good at aligning images, something Pro HDR X has trouble with. This is valuable in low light, when exposures are longer and the combination of exposures happens over a longer period of time. True HDR also has more natural color, which may or may not be what you want. Pro HDR X pumps the color, so you get those gorgeous images with blue blue skies and green green trees and grass. Its a little much. True HDR is good for getting a wider range of exposure than a single shot, it aligns multiple images well, and it uses more natural color. If you want a wider range, try Pro HDR X and--if you dont like candy-store color--adjust the saturation down.

I use a lot of photography apps (like you probably do.) Many of them become obsolete for one reason or another, but trueHDR is still the best way to get gorgeous genuine HDR with great control over the original images as well as tweaking the end result, its super simple even in full manual mode and always very stable.
